Located at Fray Noe Street #113 in the Ampliacion San Francisco neighborhood, this community center serves residents from various nearby communities such as Villas de San Juan, Piedra Azul, Valle de la Luz, San Francisco de Asis, Paseos del Molino, Brisas de San Francisco, Marsol, Villas de Nuestra Señora de la Luz, Lucero de San Nicolas, Parques de San Juan, among others. These neighborhoods, part of the San Francisco development zone, face significant social vulnerability, with major deficiencies in infrastructure, access to basic services, and environments marked by violence.

At Fundacion Leon, we respond to these realities through socially relevant and context-sensitive intervention models. The activities developed at the center are the result of participatory assessments, ensuring that every action aligns with the community’s needs and aspirations.

Our approach

The Ampliación San Francisco Development Center operates under a comprehensive methodology that promotes the physical, cognitive, and socio-emotional development of individuals. Our goal is clear: to create sustainable changes in the lives of children, adolescents, youth, adults, and seniors by strengthening their capacities and improving their quality of life.

We offer a wide and diverse range of activities and services, including:

• Physical activity and sports: rhythmic gymnastics, Lima Lama, morning and afternoon soccer schools, and functional training.
• Art and culture: painting, children’s choirs, and orchestras.
• Social promotion: community leaders, training, community work, and social responsibility.
• Job training: baking, crochet, balloon art, sewing and tailoring.
• Education: literacy programs and school tutoring.
• Human development: skills workshops, positive parenting, and values education.
• Health promotion: community dining, psychological care, and daycare centers.

Each of these initiatives aims not only to meet immediate needs but to create conditions that foster autonomy, empowerment, and the rebuilding of social fabric.
